Llano is a teenage gelding who was recently rescued from a “horse rescue” who starved its horses. This poor guy was likely neglected before he arrived at that rescue, and he jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Fortunately, he and about 150 herdmates were seized and placed in rescues across the country. He’s a handsome guy who is missing an eye. He’s very worried about people, but he’s trying to connect with his foster “mom." He needs a fly mask to protect his face and where his eye is missing ($19.98), a safety halter ($29.95) and lead rope ($12.95), dewormer (4 tubes would get him dewormed for a year, about $25), and $150 for vaccinations and $150 for dental work.
Thank you to Suzanne B., Randa W., Chera H., Karen M., Irene J., Dianne E., Al H., and Barbara D. for helping to grant Llano's wish! A very special thank you to the Princess Madeline! And THANK YOU to Linda S. for providing Llano with fly masks, dewormer, halters and a lead rope! He is starting on the road to his new life, thanks to your generosity!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
