“Dexter” is a Racing Warrior and came to The Exceller Fund from a private donor, a mother/daughter duo actually, who had tried to do their very best by him after getting him from a show trainer sight-unseen. Unfortunately, this horse was never let down properly before being sold to them and had some underlying issues, which caused him to be aggressive while in their care. We have discovered and treated for Chronic Lyme and Anaplasma a couple of times now. With that said, he has lost muscle mass and body condition during this time. That's why Dexter needs Su-Per Antioxidant for some extra immune support (at least two tubs at $44.93 per tub), as well as Vitamin E and Selenium (20 lb tub is $69.95). Ideally, Dexter can be a therapy horse at the Oklahoma Boys' Home once he is in better condition. If you want to send items directly to Dexter, the address is:
Anne Lear3832 Old Greenville Rd. Staunton, VA 24401

Thank you to Suzanne B., Randa W., Kelly E., Kori K., Irene J., Dianne E., and Ann J., Al H. for helping to grant Dexter's wish! $102 more needed!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
