Gomer wandered onto the property now owned by Bright Futures Farm about twelve years ago with his buddy Gus. They were both nearly emaciated. Friends nursed them back to health and when Bright Futures Farm bought the farm from them, Gus and Gomer stayed. At one point, a home was found for Gus, but he was devastated to be separated from Gomer, and now they are reunited forever.
Gomer is approximately 25 years old. Gomer is essentially blind, and also suffers from Cushings, requiring the medication Prascend. The cost for a 160 tablet box of Prascend is $328 and will last almost three months. Gus just had his only remaining eye removed because of a serious ulcer and has just returned home to Gomer from the vet. Any amount towards his vet bill ($1286.86) would be so appreciated.

Thank you to Suzanne B., Randa W., Lori D., Lisa B., Denise C., Beth M., Pat M., Lori D., Don H., Irene J., Dianne E., Pamela C., Glen N., and Al H. for helping to grant Gus' and Gomer's wishes! $1240 more needed (to cover Gus' vet bill, too)!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
